The former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti was in full praise of the Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic after he once again help the PSG win during the weekend. After spending a lot of money in the summer, winning the league title is the least demanded from PSG. However, their start to the new season has been extremely lethargic and they have had to be rescued by the star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic on numerous occasions this season. It once again proved to be the case after PSG struggled to get past the stubborn defence of Nancy. The Swedish striker stepped up to score the only goal of the game in the 75th minute.
After the match, the former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti praised the striker by saying that he made a real difference to the team. He has also thanked Zlatan Ibrahimovic for keeping PSG at the top of the table. After an indifferent start to the new season, the club are currently three points ahead of the second placed the club Marseille at the top of the table. They are odds on favourite to win the league title this season, but it will be interesting to see how they perform in the European competitions.
“I thank Ibrahimovic. He is a fantastic player. We lost here last season, so this is an important win for us. This win will increase the character and personality of this team. The second period was better for us, as we played with more intensity. [Mathieu] Bodmer and [Adrien] Rabiot gave greater security to the team. [Javier] Pastore was not used to playing in midfield, which explained our early difficulties, but he did well once he moved behind the strikers, though things were difficult for [Jeremy] Menez tonight,” said Ancelotti. PSG are the only undefeated team in the French league.
